Maternal and offspring high-fat diet leads to platelet hyperactivation in male mice offspring

چکیده

Abstract Maternal over-nutrition increases the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular events in offspring. While prominent effects on health are observed, impact platelet physiology has not been studied. Here, we examined whether maternal high-fat diet (HF) ingestion affects function lean obese C57BL6/N mice dams were given a HF or control (C) for 8 weeks before during pregnancy. Male female offspring received C diets 26 weeks. Experimental groups were: C/C, dam fed standard laboratory diet; C/HF HF/C HF/HF. Phenotypic metabolic tests performed blood collected studies. Compared to obese, with fat accumulation, hyperglycaemia insulin resistance. Female did present hyperactivity, hence focused male Platelets from HF/HF larger, hyperactive presented oxidative stress when compared C/C. results hyperactivation mouse offspring, suggesting novel ‘double-hit’ effect.

Maternal high‐fat diet in mice leads to innate airway hyperresponsiveness in the adult offspring

Maternal obesity prior to and during pregnancy has been associated with an increased incidence of childhood asthma. As diets rich in saturated fat are linked to obesity and inflammation, we created a murine model to investigate the effect of maternal high-fat diet (HFD) on adult offspring airway hyperreactivity (AHR), a cardinal feature of asthma. Balb/cByJ dams were fed a HFD (60% fat Calories...

Protective effects of troxerutin on maternal high-fat diet-induced impairments of spatial memory and apelin in the male offspring

Objective(s): Maternal high-fat diet (HFD) is linked with metabolic and cognitive deficits in offspring. Neuroprotective effects of troxerutin, a natural bioflavonoid, have been reported recently. This study aimed to investigate the effects of troxerutin on spatial memory and serum and hippocampal apelin levels in the male offspring of HFD fed mothers.Materials and Methods: Three-week-old femal...

The Effect of Maternal High-Fat Feeding on Energy Homeostasis in Stressed Adult Male Rat Offspring

Introduction: In the present study the effect of chronic maternal high-fat diet consumption on energy homeostasis and glucose metabolism in response to chronic stress was investigated in adult male rats. Materials and Methods: Female rats were divided into two groups of normal and high fat diets. Each group received their diet from 3 weeks before pregnancy until the end of lactation. At 8 weeks...

Maternal high-fat diet intensifies the metabolic response to stress in male rat offspring

BACKGROUND The mother's consumption of high-fat food can affect glucose metabolism and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis responsiveness in the offspring and potentially affect the metabolic responses to stress as well. This study examines the effect of maternal high-fat diet on the expression of pancreatic glucose transporter 2 and the secretion of insulin in response to stress in offspri...

Maternal high-fat diet consumption impairs exercise performance in offspring

The aim of the present study was to scrutinise the influence of maternal high-fat diet (mHFD) consumption during gestation and lactation on exercise performance and energy metabolism in male mouse offspring. Female C3H/HeJ mice were fed either a semi-synthetic high-fat diet (HFD; 40 % energy from fat) or a low-fat diet (LFD; 10 % energy from fat) throughout gestation and lactation. After weanin...
